I've had one of these for about eight or ten years. I installed a DCC decoder, which wasn't hard though not plug-in and took some removal of direct wiring and soldering new wiring for the decoder. For consistent operation, I suggest adding a lithium-ion battery that keeps power on when skipping contact with the track because it requires clean track and pickup wheels for consistent operation. In my case, grandsons (oldest now ten) caused me to have to do some repairs and we still haven't found the headlight lens they lost. So keep it away from little kids. If someone knows where to get parts I'll buy a new lens; otherwise I'll have to make one from a rod of clear plastic. A lot of fun to run, though, and just gorgeous with a compatible passenger consist!
