So far so good. The speakers came packaged very well. Minimal parts to assemble. The sound is incredible! I am running them with a 12" down firing sub. I tested them without the sub and the bass was plenty but I wanted the extra umph. I noticed that they have to be placed a little bit away from the wall to optimize the rear firing speaker. But in order to really tell a difference you would have to be very picky. All around great product.

I have used Definitive for many of my desire projects for the last 28 years. They have been selected from about the middle of Definitive’s tower speaker line-up to near the top. This is an excellent speaker BP-8040st, I used 4 of them for a room that is 30’x30’ because the customer wanted a full sound in every spot of the room. Well, the results were excellent. He enjoys Classical, Thai, Lounge and other styles of music and no matter what you’er listening to you will feel like you are there live. The highs, midrange, and the bass are nicely defined. You can spend more or less for speakers but if you spend it on speaker that other than Definitive you’ve missed the boat. I traded for a pair of BP8040STs from a fellow on Craigslist in January of 2019 and I'm thrilled with my purchase. These are full-range speakers for the price of mediocre equipment. The sound is well balanced, dynamic, and sometimes intoxicating. I'm hearing details and bass in music that I've never before heard. These are easily the best speakers I've ever heard and the aesthetics are excellent as well. I really enjoy the physical presence of the speaker which to my eyes is stately, elegant, and the perfect size. The tweeters are at ear level when you are in the listening position and there is a 300 watt DSP controlled INTERNAL subwoofer in each speaker that projects deep and authoritative bass. I want to feel as well as hear my music so that it replicates the vibrations felt at a well produced concert. That sternum rattling buzz you get from powerful bass makes the listening experience much closer to the live experience and these speakers give you that feeling for a tremendous value. I'm currently using pedestrian upstream gear and I'm still getting amazing sound. These speakers get my highest possible rating.Read full review
