I first spied this book in the now-closed Gatwick Viewing Terrace in the late 1990s but regretfully never purchased it. However, I was overjoyed to find a copy for sale on Ebay. On delivery, I found that it certainly did not disappoint. The quality of the photography is superb, the pages glossy and high quality, the colour schemes and aircraft depicted superb. One print even includes the Ariana 727 YA-FAR in a line-up at Gatwick which was in service only very briefly before crashing just east of the airport in fog in 1969. There are some excellent colour photos of Gatwick and Heathrow throughout as well as other airports depicted, with great classic airliners such as Viscounts, Vanguards, Coronados, Comets, Britannias and Starliners and classic airlines such as BUA / British Midland, Syrian Arab and many others featured with very interesting accompanying historical narrative. Overall a great read, a super study and a great buy all round !Read full review
