After reading The Monogram Murders, I couldn't wait to read The Closed Casket. I'm a HUGE fan of Poirot, and David Suchet as the actor in the Poirot series on DVD. But right off the bat, the characters in this story were so vicious I could hardly believe it. I know the British have a way of using the truth like blunt instruments, but these disgusting remarks were way off the mark. I read on hoping the story would improve ? It did NOT. And I REALLY missed the old characters, especially Hastings. I'm afraid to buy the next one, The Three Quarters.
