I have tile and grout flooring in my kitchen, dining room, both bathrooms and front entryway. I have used a steam mop, as well as a sponge mop and regular wring mop and my floors seem to never get clean. I've used several different types of floor cleaners and the leave my floors sticky and then I have to rinse a couple times or they leave them super slick with a build up. The Hoover floormate is super easy to use, does not leave a film or stickiness on the floors and it's quick. No bending and having to scrub tile grout on your hands and knees. No having to wring out your dirty mop, and the best part is the dirty water is separate from the clean water. I highly recommend this product. Having 4 kids you can imagine the messes my kitchen and bathroom floors have seen. The Hoover floormate saves me time and keeps my floors super clean. Love it!Read full review

3 stars because as a vacuum, it won't pick up diddly, so it should be 1 star. As a floor cleaner, I love it. It doesn't dry like the ad shows but it does dry pretty good. My floors are so shinny I thought they were wet, I had left the cleaner with clean and dirty water sitting in it to see if it leaked, it did not leak, also it leaves water where you start and stop. As far as cleaning the floor 5 stars. Mopping is a time consuming job and I hate it, the constant changing to clean water, steaming does a good job but not what this cleaner does, and those stick mops don't cut it either, I had steamed and used the stick mop before purchasing this cleaner and my water was very dirty, My floors have never looked this good. I also own the Hoover carpet cleaner with heater and it does a fabulous job.Read full review

I've had several Hoover FloorMates over the years, and always buy a new one before the currently-used one might die. I just can't imagine how anyone with a hard floor surface can get by without one. What's the alternative? Slopping and swirling a messy mop all over the floor, spreading around the dirt and mess? Or crawling all over the floors on hands and knees scrubbing and rinsing out a sponge over and over? This machine is barely more work than vacuuming. Clean water shoots onto the floor, circular brushes spin on it, and then the dirty water is sucked up as a squeegee wipes the floor nearly dry. It holds about a quart of (hot) water at a time, the clean and dirty water are kept in separate tanks, and it's much lighter than it looks. The handle even has the option of folding down for convenient storage. And this model has a 27' power cord! I don't know of a way to clean floors that does such a good job of removing dirt and is so physically simple to perform. I am a petsitter with 6 dogs of our own, so I know a thing or two about dirty floors. And I will never be caught without a FloorMate. Period.Read full review

I didn't open the box for a few days because I was hesitant about the assembly. To my surprise I was able to assemble and start using it in less than 15mins to put together! Once it was assembled it was easy to figure out exactly what to do. There is an easy to read knob that allows you to set the machine to Vacuum, Wash or Dry. The instruction manual recommended to do the process in the same order as the selection on the knob. You should be able to get the hang of using the Wash feature after your first time. It took me a few minutes to figure out how much solution to release with the easy trigger on the handle. Once you Wash a section of your floor you switch to Dry feature. This sucks up the excess water and fills up the reservoir tank. Once you're done just remove the reservoir tank, dump out the dirty water, rinse the tank and replace. Easy!Read full review

CLEANED a 500 S/F Stone Floor in 10 MINUTES! As the owner of a large home with stone, marble and wood floors, I can vouch that this Hoover FH40010B is one of the most EFFICIENT, ECONOMICAL and USER FRIENDLY machines in its class on the market today. THE RESIDUE TANK'S NASTY GREY WATER WILL AMAZE YOU! I thought my floors were CLEAN! Just pour hot water right from kitchen sink in the detergent tank, fill the little cup with detergent (measurement cup doubles as the locking cap- how cool), screw cap on, click in, press POWER and AWAY YOU GO! When empty, unclick residue tank, enjoy your gawk at the filthy grey nasty water, quick rise of the parts and REPEAT. This machine STRIPS ALL THE WORK TIME AWAY SO you MAY FEEL GUILTY at first when you find your cleaning time is cut by 80%! Just look for something else to do with all that remaining free time! ENJOY!
