Excellent hardware, no noise, no heat, not too heavy. Excellent sound processing, easy setup, straight forward menu. Reach settings, and supporting almost every single audio/video sources. Looks very nice and give the room great and modern look. Can't find anything bad about it, only missing the airplay feature for iOS devices, but I can simply buy apple TV and connect it to this devise to add the airplay feature. Has APPS on both Android market and Apple market, and the app itself is great add. I've my phone the Nexus S Android phone and I do have the iPad so to have the same app on both is a great feature. Price is very reasonable for a very high end AV receiver. I just love it the most.
I bought this receiver to replace my 11 year old Yamaha DSP A-1 that stopped working. I was very happy with my previous Yamaha, and had several friends with Yamahas. This receiver has a better, clearer sound than DSP A-1. Features that I like are hdmi switching with dual outputs, dual subwoofer outs that are indenpendantly configurable (a real plus since my subs are different brands and power output). I miss not having a switched output (that could control cooling fans, tv start up, etc.). I think this receiver is a good value for the sound quality.
Have not been able to use the receiver as Yamaha does not include an AMP IN for an equalizer. My Bose speakers carry an equalizer to be able to use them. I will now need to buy new speakers. The RX-A3000 does not also include AUDIO OUT inputs for cassette decks, you can only listen to cassettes, cannot record. I was told by the Yamaha representative, when I called, that no one uses cassettes anymore and the receiver will not accept Bose speakers; well, I do use cassettes. I did listened to music through the headphones and the sound was amazing. I'm rating as GOOD because there is no N/A option.
Packed with useful features especially when it comes to upscaling the incoming video source. Great surround sound and reasonably easy to set-up and get started.

I had a Yamaha Rx-v 867 7-2 receiver and I wanted to upgrade to another Yamaha receiver because I have been always pleased with Yamaha products. Again I'm so very impressed with the Yamaha rx-a3000. I missed to mostly music and haven't had a chance the watch movies on it yet but for music it is spectacular.I would definitely recommend this receiver to anyone who has a real appreciation for quality sound and at 140 watts a Chanel it packs a punch. I'm so happy that I made this purchase as I feel its one of the better I've ever made
