So, lets use the little questions ebay has given me, shall we? Why did I buy this product?: I love Nyx and I was so excited to discover that they had loose pigments! I adore loose pigments and have a large collection (missing purples) in my makeup collection. I ordered mostly purples and I do love this brand. It was such a good bargin too, since we don't have Nyx here in Ireland. What do you like and dislike about the product? I really love the colour pay off on these guys! The shades are all so unique and you can create some beautiful combos with these! :) The only thing I dislike about this product is the packaging. The bottle is rather small and the opening isn't big enough to get a brush into. The lid isn't flat, it's a screw on, so you can't tap it out onto the lid like I normally do. To solve this little kink, I bought five, ten gram jars. They were filled to the top with pigment, something I was really impressed with. You actually get a lot of product in this little bottle! How does this product compare to others? Well, I have the collection 2000 dazzle dust and I feel that they aren't as finely milled as these Nyx are. The finish of the Nyx ones are slightly metalic while some are quite sparkly. I like the variety of finishes while the collection 2000 just seems to be all sparkles. I would definitely buy more of these bad boys because the colours are gorgeous! Hope this reviewed helped anyone debating whether to buy these in doubt. If in doubt: just remember that Nyx more often then not are great quality for money! And just look at all those pretty shades! In my opinion loose pigments are a must have and these are, as of now, the best pigments I have found! :)Read full review
I usually use Urban Decay and MAC brand pigments with my work in glamor makeups. I had been looking for an inexpensive brand to use for practicing some new techniques and came across NYX powders. I didn't expect much at under $3.00 a jar, but once I tried them I was really impressed! The pearl colors are very smooth and the colors "pop". A little goes a long way for shadowing, and in more concentrated areas the colors can be applied thickly and hold up very well through the day and under hot lights or outdoors. They mix well for eyeshadow, eyeliner, and lip tint as long as a makeup primer is used. The NYX powders are definitely going into my professional makeup kit!
I bought this product as an alternative to Mac pigments. NYX has always gotten rave reviews and I just had to try these pigments because of the low price, and excellent reputation. They are all very pigmented and go on great either wet or with primer. I don't feel like they would last all day without one. I find some of the colours to be quite similar, like rust and penny. Overall, they are a great product. The one BIG negative would be the bottle opening. They are impossible to use as they are just too narrow. I didn't even attempt it. I went to a craft store and bought bead-organizer containers. Disinfected them with a bit of alcohol and poured (it wasn't easy, but certainly not hard) the product into the containers. I would NOT buy this product for the regular price they sell at the drugstore ($6/each) in canada. There are a lot of great deals on ebay.Read full review
It looks like you don't get a lot of product in the tiny little jar, but here's tons! The color selection is pretty, though I would have loved a true red. Ah well. The pearly finish is also very pretty. Because of their loose nature, they absolutely have to be used with a base or primer, or they'll wear off in no time. The packaging makes it a little hard to work with, since they're loose and all, but if you can deal with not being able to control how much you get out at once it shouldn't be an issue. Of course, there's gonna be fallout, but that can't be helped.
I bought this product because I wanted to have more diferent colors and very strong ones. And it's very good because of this. The colors are very strong when you put on your skin, very well pigmented. What I don't like about it is that the powder is very very thin and it makes a mess... the particules get all over you and it's very hard to clean them off. But I think being thin is a good thing for lasting longer on your eyelids. This is the first loose eyeshadow I use, but I read some reviews and all of them say that its quality is the same when you compare to more expensives brands, like MAC.
