In the US Gillette has been trying to phase out Atra (known as Contour in Europe) for some time. They no longer market the handles. For a while the blades were unavailable, but now Chinese made Atra blades are being sold through a few outlets. Gillette, it appears would prefer that their customers use Sensor or the triple bladed Mach 3. For sure Sensor provides a closer shave, but for me Atra has always been the smooth Cadillac of shaving rides. It is especially good at cutting through a two or three day growth of beard. Vector is the name under which Gillette markets Atra in India. The blades are made in India and surprise surprise as good or better than their Chinese counterparts. Also, they have a little sliding plastic piece that ejects the hairs between the blades. This was a feature that I used to see on TV in the 1970s before I was shaving and had almost forgotten about. How quaint to see it here. Based upon my observation I think that the Chinese Atra blades may be purposely downgraded to encourage US customers to trade up. In India where thick beards are the norm I think that Gillette has chosen to make a better quality version. These blades perfectly fit my German made Contour handle that I've had since 1989. The quality is very good. The price is about 1/3 what I pay for Atra blades in the US.Read full review

It’s made by Gillette in India. It has a lube strip. It also has something the old US Atra Plus blades didn’t have, a press down cleaner for shaved beard hair caught between the blades. Lasts about seven shaves. Fits old Atra handles. Great product.

Much better than I expected. Compact size make it ideal to shave under nose.
