As a jazz Pianist, accustomed to playing on acoustic pianos, one of my closest friends, who is also a piano player, recommended the Kurzweil PC2x, when I was inquiring about an electronic keyboard that had excellent Piano sounds. previously, I had tried other name brand keyboards but was not satisfied with the piano sounds that they produced. On blind faith, I started looking around for a Kurzweil PC2x. knowing it was an older model, I did find a used one on Ebay that according to the seller, was in excellent shape and hardly used. After comunicating with the seller, who proved to be extremely accomodating, I bought the unit, which traveled 3,000 miles via UPS to my home. It arrived in perfect condition. While the weight of the unit is heavier than I had hoped for, I was delighted with the condition of the unit and most importantly,the wonderful Kurzweil piano sounds. Of course, the B3 Hammond sounds were a bonus. While I love my Yamaha C7 acoustic piano, I am very pleased to now play on my Kurzweil when an acoustic piano is not available.Read full review
Manufactured 2 decades ago yet can easily compete with any digital piano or organ products manufactured today. The acoustic grand piano patches are inspiring and second to none. The electric piano patches will take you back to the 60's, 7O's and even the 80's!. I'm pretty much a Yamaha/Roland guy but these old Kurzweils are still relevant and a tremendous value for your money if you can find a good used one. A very sturdy and HEAVY build, there are better "light weight" choices if you wish to gig regularly and normally don't use a roadie. But these excellent versatile instruments, heavy as they are, will be the perfect addition to your home studio or just simply playing for enjoyment.
