This is a great ruler for making half square triangles and any time an accurate quarter or half inch measurement is needed. The rulers come in a set of three, a 4 inch, 6 inch and 12 inch. They are made of clear see through plastic that is quite thick. The markings are imbedded in the plastic and do not wear away with use. I have never broken one. I did lose my 12 inch during the process of getting a new machine. Everything got scattered and could never find the 12 inch ruler. I do not use it a lot, but still needed another. Unfortunately, I do not have a camera to take and send pictures.
