Older club, perhaps, better than most currently, without a doubt. 10-HC or below would enjoy more than golfers newer to the game. I would not have believed it myself, until I watcha playing partner put on an absolute clinic with it. After hitting his club a few times that round, I knew that I had to have it. I found this one in mint condition, even the hear cover is brand new! Anyway, for the price and playability off the deck on par 5s and 400 or less par 4s. Its definitely worth experimenting wit, before one goes out and buys this so called "New Technology" . I hope this helps...Fore!

Titleist fairway woods have been around for a long time, and although other clubmakers are experimenting with weight changing and odd shapes Titleist has held true to the classic lines they've been known for. The 975F is a fairway wood that first came out back in the days of the 975D driver, back before gigantic clubfaces were all the rage. The low center of gravity and smaller clubface are not for high handicappers but rather shotmakers who can work the ball to the left and right. The 975F has a shorter shaft than normal 3Ws but this gives more control in my opinion. Combine the shorter shaft with a slightly upright lie angle and this club is great for picking the ball off of tight lies. This club is great for: * Working the ball left and right * Low punch fairway shots * Low handicappers or middle handicappers looking to elevate their game This club probably isn't so great for: * Teeing up high because of its low profile * Higher handicappers or beginners who use a 3W because they can't handle a driver If you're looking to purchase a newer Titleist wood for near full price, I'd recommend picking up a lightly used 975F instead. I got mine for $40 here on eBay (small scratches, stiff shaft, new grip) and it has the same look and feel as the new woods but for a fraction of the price. Can't go wrong with older Titleist clubs!Read full review
I have played the 975f series of fairway woods from Titleist for around two years now, mainly my 20.5* and 14.5*. You can really work the ball around trees right to left or left to right. On shorter par 4s I was using my 14.5* to stay in the fairway and normally hit a draw around 260 with roll. I now hit the 12.5* 285 yards and 270 carry. I can leave my driver in the bag on my course's short 300 yard par 4 where you have to carry 250 to clear the water, and with a breeze behind me I'm able to hit the green with more accuracy than I was able to with my driver. If you are looking for a very workable classic looking fairway wood there are none better than Titleist. With all the new clubs coming out you can get your hands on one of these 975f woods for a little bit of nothing these days and you can't go wrong.Read full review
I recently bought a 975F 13.5* 3 wood and found this lub to hit the ball a long way. This club is not for the slicer however, because the forgiveness is not all that high. It has a very rounded traditional shape that more of the purest type will love and is very easy to work the ball as well with this club. Overall, if you have a high ball flight or someone that can sacrifice some height in ball flight for longer distance this is a great club.
This is a club for the low handicaps of which i am not. However I am able to shape my shots easily and I do get some decent yardage when I strike it correctly. If I have anything negitive to say, it is my preformance not the club. I belive in titleist products and I am now using the 905t driver and also a 975f 5 wood with good results.
