The guitar I bought was actually a FatStrat (HSS pickup configuration) I would ficus rather on MIM vs. Made in USA guitars. I have played both, and for the money, the MIM guitars are just as good. Hispanics are better artisans and craftsmen than there US counterparts because they definitely don't take there hobs for granted. The people who work for factories in other countries take more pride in what they make with their hands and that is where the energy and emphasis is placed not worrying so much about what the company can do for them or maybe what the next Union move is going to be. MIM guitars are just fine.
Purchase of the 50's reissue Fender Stratocaster was a breath of fresh air.The color grabbed my attention. Daphne blue had been a color I always wanted. This is my first strat with a maple neck. All previous experiences of these fine instruments had been with tge rosewood fingerboard. The maple neck was a new threshold and opened my eyes to an ease and feel that was brand new. I have had the pleasure of owning and playing a 1965 pre-cbs strat several years back. The reissues give me the sense of those days gone by. Thanks to all at Fender for the foresight to pay tribute to the company's history.
Son plays with The LIONZ of ZION and are on warp tour as I am typing and needed a back-up guitar,Fender was the guiter of choice so it is with him on tour.
