I bought this game mostly to relive old times, because I used to play it endlessly when I was a kid. Even though I'm in college now, I still have just as much fun as I did years ago. Even though Cruis'n World is somewhat dated in terms of graphics and gameplay, it still remains one of the best racing games on N64. The game has a very arcade-y feel to it, which could be a good or bad thing depending on your point of view; but for me, it makes the game much more fun. And that's something that this game has in spades: fun. From doing wheelies in a semi truck to doing back flips over The Pyramids in Egypt, it'll be a long time before you get tired of this game.
THIS IS A GREAT GAME~LOADED WITH GREAT CARS AND TRACKS~ONE OF THE COOLEST TRICKS IS TAPPING THE BRAKE BUTTON WHILE TURNING,YOU SNAP THE CAR INTO A DRIFT, WHICH YOU CAN CONTOL WITH TOGGLE CONROL TO A POINT WERE YOU MUST TAP THE BRAKES AGAIN TO "snap" the car the other way. Try it? While driving on a straight away cut the wheel sharp and "tap"~ you can even get the car to go on two wheels. The second part is tap the gas for a burst of power over a jump spin toggle around or up down, you will do different tricks earning bonuses on certain levels. On the negative side i cant think of anything???????????????????????????? O.K. What can I say "on the hard level it's tuff to catch the 1st place guy?" It would not be "hard" if it wasent hard. Its really a (great game). THATS ALL FOR NOW. ~~~~~~~~~ideaguy~~~~~~~~~~Read full review
For fun, casual gameplay in a racing mode, it's hard to beat Cruis'n World, the best title of the cruising series. The game is very simple to learn: someone can come off the street, push "start," select auto or manual, select a car, and go! Yes, the racing action (especially the "crashes") are cartoonish but the physics are correct and mastering the races takes skill. The cars have a wonderful way of kicking in afterburners when the accelerator gets plunged down. Best of all, it's just flat out fun to race on the New York State thruway or past L'Arc de Triomphe, the Great Wall of China or the Taj Majal.
I bought this game because I remember playing it at arcades or bars when I was younger and loving the game. However when I got the game and played it on the N64 the game wasn't as fun without the steering wheel and gas pedal. It doesn't obviously cost as much which is a plus, compared to the full size game where you had to stick some quarters in for each race. All together a good racing game that brought back past memories.
It works great! I love it! This game is so much fun to play. My sister and I love to play it and try to beat each other. I used to have one of these games when I was little but then had to throw it away because it no longer worked. I am excited to have it back and have one that actually works. Thanks. I will enjoy playing this on my Christmas break and when I have time off from work.
