Initially it was not easy to setup even with the free software, however with a few YouTube sessions I got it dialed in as it were. Would recommend it as a first HT radio for the price point and build quality. If you do decide to purchase this radio, make sure you know someone who can help you get it up and running, once its programmed it will be a great daily driver!

This was my second DMR radio and super pleased with it, and it exceeded my expectations. My hearing is not so great, and the sound quality is excellent. The speaker is VERY loud and clear even in analog. The programming was pretty easy to setup and never had an issue connecting to port and loading and saving code plug. The case is very durable and strong, and display is very clear and easy to understand. As any new radio it takes a bit to get use to the configuration and buttons, but I got use to it pretty fast. The knobs and buttons are easy to get to and work well. I would definitely recommend this radio.

I love this radio! One of the best radios I have. Even for analog! One thing I love is setting up repeaters in zones based on locations. Both analog or dmr repeaters. On a side note. Since I have bought this radio I have learned the 878 is the same as the 868 based on videos found online. If I bought again I would buy the 868 to save some money and simply flash the 878 firmware on to it like so many others have.

My first DMR, so it took a bit of research to get it going, also had some help from the local club. So far the audio has been very good off the local repeater. Others in the club like it as well.
