My Bose AE2 headphones have served me well for years, and it seemed like a shame to discard them simply because the pads on the phones had deteriorated. So for about 10% of the price of a new set of headphones, I was grateful to be able to make them like new with a quality set of pads from Bose. I was worried about breaking the headphones by removing the old pads and installing new ones, but the instructions that accompanied the new pads were clear and the replacement went without a hitch. I now have a like-new product that I love and hope to use for many additional years.

I own 2 of these headphones. The sound quality is very good. The quality of the construction of the actual over the ear part is poor(see picture). At a frequent $30 replacement I am sure that the are headphones of better design. I'm sort of married to these. My main use has turned to the noise canceling in the ear set.

This third party aftermarket padded ear cup, inner ear piece lining and padded head band wrapper restoration kit is everything needed to restore an old pair of Bose Quiet Comfort 2 headphones to like new condition. Sadly over time the leatherette material coating the padded ear cups and head band wrapper break down flaking off into bits of sticky black gummy residue. This residue debris can get into the ear cups, onto the wearer's hair and all over clothes as well as any other surfaces the debris happens to land upon. This restoration kit replaces the inner ear lining on both sides as the double sided adhesive foam tape tends to degrade with age causing these liners to move out of place. The padded ear cup pieces snap into the retaining tabs just like the OEM ear cups do. The padded head ban wrapper uses a zipper seam to aid installation. Without the zipper seam the headphones would have to be disassembled on one side with either the wire cut or disconnected to remove the old piece and slide on a new piece. I suspect the wire connecting the drivers can not be disconnected by popping a clip thus the zippered replacement piece. The original head band wrapper piece can only be removed by cutting it open and sliding it off the metal band. Try to save the removable clear plastic piece that covers the top side of the metal head band from this padded wrapper. This clear plastic piece helps protect the fragile looking wire from being abrasion damaged by the plastic zipper teeth rubbing against the wire. Unfortunately the clear plastic piece that covers the bottom side of the metal head band is glued to the original head band wrapper padding piece. Removing this piece would probably create a bigger mess than is worthwhile to clean up. Otherwise it would be advisable to install it with the new head band padded wrapper piece. With all pieces installed the Bose QC2 looks almost as good as new. Only the zipper on the top side of the padded head band wrapper gives away this is not an OEM restoration kit. That being said the padded ear cups are as soft and comfortable to wear as the original pieces so no complaints. I had considered sending in these old QC2 head phones to Bose for a restoration fix or ordering an OEM parts kit from Bose. Buying a new pair or a newer pair of refurbished/renewed Bose headphones seemed a lot of money to spend over flaking leatherette material. However at the price point I acquired this aftermarket kit for I can tolerate a slight deviation from OEM looks. My old QC2s still worked just fine electronically speaking but I stopped using them when the leatherette material began flaking off. With this kit's pieces fully installed it's like having a brand new pair of QC2 headphones again.Read full review

After do some research and look trough different places and prices I decided to purchase these. I paid a little bit more than the ones that are selling on Amazon ( not originals). These are originals come with instructions of assembly and a warranty card from Bose ( this part I don’t think that I can use it because I bought through a third party. Anyway botttom line these are originals and is what matter. quality no doubt. Invest a little more and get them

The ear cushions arrived just as pictured in the Ad. It was easy to replace my original ear cushions with no effect on performance. My Bose QC 15 Headphones now look and perform as new.
