Credentials: Professional Carpenter 16 years. Bought one because I wanted to see if there was a difference between this and my Makita drill driver which is also an 18v. There absolutely is a difference, it drives faster and has no torque clutch. It is absolutely great for driving screws and/or lag bolts. Does what's asked. A note on the Makita Star batteries and series of tools. If you are using it and the battery is getting low or the tool is getting hot, the drill will STOP working with no warning. You may think your tool is broken, either charge the battery or swap it out for a fresh one. Good luck with your project.
