Love the image stabilized binoculars. This is my second pair. Bought Canons' 10x32 many years ago and love them. Wanted something with a bit more power. They are pricey, but if you want to see fine detail while bird watching IS binocular's are the only way to go. I can't compare them to any other brands, but I am a Canon guy. Also have two Canon cameras. Must say, Canon could do better with the soft feel coating on the housing. Like many other people have commented, the coating gets sticky and needs to be removed. At any rate I bought a second pair and I love them. I will give my 10x32 to my wife to use when we go birding.

Canon has always had excellent optics, so I am not suprised that these are bright and clear at any magnification. The best thing about the IS binoculars is that the image remains crisp, with no fuzzy lines due to tremors that come with higher magnification and old age. At 67 I need all the help I can get in seeing distant objects and these do exactly what I had hoped they would. I am very pleased with the Image Stabilization function, which presents an image as crisp as my 8 power, while bringing everything much closer. Recommended to anyone that is going to use magnificaton bigher than 8X, or anyone with shaky hands. The only drawback is size, but that comes with the IS feature, and is well worth the tradeoff.
I am quickly becoming somewhat of a binocular nut as they apply to Astronomy. I purchased these in hopes of being able to allow me to wander the Milky Way untethered by a tripod, or unburdened from the oppressive weight of other good binoculars that I own. This binocular achieved both of these goals quite well. I fully appreciated the lighter weight and how the binocular fit in my hands. The focus knob is very well placed and it only takes a feather touch with either index finger to make the slightest adjustment in focus for very clear, bright images. It took some minor retraining of my brain when it came to pointing the the binocular to a desired target in the night sky. With the optical path offset vertically in this design I found it necessary to aim a little lower than I have become accustomed to. What you may find amazing is just how much more detail comes to your eye when you engage the Image Stabilization feature. I would venture to say that you'll see up to 20% more stars than when you view trying to hand-hold a similar power binocular. My only knock against this binocular was that I could not get the right eye to come to a complete, pinpoint focus using the diopter. As a result the overall crispness of the star images were not up to expectations. I believe that it was probably limited to the particular set used in my case, as they were received poorly wrapped for shipment and must have be knocked out of alignment. You won't find another binocular that will show you this kind of detail, at these magnifications, in a handheld binocular like the Canon IS models. You'll have to be the judge on the "value" that the binocular delivers at today's prices. Me, I'm going back to the tripod.Read full review
These are the best binoculars I've ever bought. Honestly it took awhile to buy them due to the price. 2 friends of mine own them but bought the 18x instead. One is a hunting guide and the other an novice astronomer. Both said that 28x is a little overkill and look at the 12 or 15x. I went with the 12 and love them!!! The ability to watch a stable image at 400++ yards is worth every penny. For me and hunting it's to immediately identify if that's a trophy buck or not. They really are worth the money. Mine are water resistant. If you are planning on playing in puddles or hunting in very wet conditions just get the 15x waterproof. If you are thinking about getting them just do it. You won't regret it.

I love these binoculars. The Image Stabilizer allows use of 12X power by significantly reducing motion normally seen in similar binoculars of similar magnification. I've used them hunting for several years and they hold up. You can buy more expensive, but these are great! Highly recommend them.
