does a good job vacuuming. you still need to manual vacuum occasionally because it doesn't get behind doors or in some corners or stairs but 95% of regular cleaning is nice. The D7 can have more than one map (upstairs/downstairs) but to utilize multiple maps you need a charger for each map or you have to move the charger to a location in each map (bummed when I realized this). To use the no-go lines or to select/deselect zones you need to create a map first...thus more than one charger if you have more than one map...or just vacuum with no map, in which case a you don't need a D7, save a little with a D3-D6 depending on desired features.

The unit itself works well; it picks up dust and debris perfectly. We have a mix of hardwood flooring and area rugs and it maneuvers over the different surfaces with ease. My main complaint is probably with the software. In my opinion, it isn't very good. It has gotten "stuck" out in open places where there is no interference. We have one tight corner where it will try to get between the legs of a cabinet but it is wider than the opening between the legs so it goes back and forth trying to get between the legs which it can't. I would think there would be some algorithm that would have it skip the area instead of "if at first you don't succeed, try try again. It will stay in that same spot until the battery runs out. Then I move it back to its charging station and I get a message on my phone that it has finished cleaning but it didn't get to the back of the house at all. Another issue is that when it does have an issue, the phone app has a link for more information but when I try to follow it, I get a message that the page doesn't exist (I'm clicking on their link!) I just feel that for what it cost it should have better software to go along with what is a pretty good product.Read full review

This little vacuum is a powerhouse! It can turn and twist in all kinds of directions to get under and behind furniture. I love the fact that it can clean under the beds and dressers where I can't reach. It glides over rugs and is not a circular shape like the others. This feature allows it to get closer in the corners. The battery life is better than my cordless vacuum. I love that I can just turn it on and go do some other housework. It's like having an imaginary housekeeper who gets the job done while you are doing something else. I love that it returns itself to its docking station just before the battery is totally depleted.

I love the D7. I am giving it 4 stars because it took us 2 weeks to get it connected to the WiFi. They should send out better instructions on WiFi settings. You have to have technical support to get it set up. It cleans well, is quieter than our previous 5 year old Neato, recharges fast and has great battery time for cleaning.

Have been using the older botvac connected model for a couple years. We figure it has made the complete circuit of our 1800 sqft home about 800 times and kept it clean every day. This one is basically identical to that older model, with some very useful new features. We love its new ability to map out your whole floor plan and perform selective cleaning of different zones. So far this one is just as dependable as the old model it replaces. You just can't find anything better than the Neato robots.
