The honey dispenser works great! Fill it and you are good to go. The recommended use of water in the lower cup/stand is unnecessary. I am using it with honey from my hive, no problem with flow or drippage, the little plug works fine. Refilling looked to be awkward, but it turns out that you can put your finger on the bottom to plug the lower half, the top of the dispenser on the upturned lid of the honey jar you are using to refill it, pour honey in, put the top back on, no mess or problem. I wish the top were made of metal for longer term durability, but that may just be paranoia on my part. If you use honey or syrup on a regular basis, this is the easiest, and least messy, way to go!

Poor design on connection of the plunger & stopper that controls the flow. From very first attempt at use, the 'plunger' and little 'seal' that should have some up to allow flow and then stop it, failed. The little seal came off the plunger that was controlled by the release on the top/handle & just sat there in the bottom. There was no way to get the plunger to reconnect at all - it had to be completely emptied to try & reattach it. Emptied it, tried again ~ fail. Did this several times and gave up. Very disappointed because I loooooved the look and we were so excited about it :(

I really like this little gadget! Filling it is an interesting undertaking, though, because the honey is drizzling out the bottom as you're pouring it into the top. For me, it was just a bit awkward holding my finger over the hole at the same time as pouring the honey out of the big container. But, someone else may be more dexterous! Maybe I'll figure out a way to plug the hole while filling the dispenser. The honey drizzles out a little slower than I would like, but then the same is true of my squeeze honey bear! I love that it is made of glass, not acrylic or plastic. It's a really nice and pretty addition to the breakfast area on my kitchen counter! If you like to use honey (or syrup), I believe you will enjoy this dispenser.

The handle assembly is plastic but seems sturdy enough. The hole is too small for honey unless it is warm. The instructions say don't microwave but 30 seconds hasn't damaged it and warms honey up nicely. The hole is so large, however, that warm honey or syrup gushes out if fully open, so a fine touch is needed in order to control the flow. A more tapered stopper would help there. We like melted butter for our waffles and the dispenser works nicely for that too. The main disadvantage is the difficulty of filling. You must hold a finger on the hole while unscrewing the top and filling. Awkward and messy. It would have been easy to add a flexible seat in the base that would keep the hole closed while the unit is sitting on the reservoir cup. That would be a big improvement. As it is the unit is worth having and the cost quite reasonable.Read full review

Not only is this honey dispenser adorable, it is functional. I add hot water to the bottom portion and by the time the water for my hot drink has heated in the microwave, the honey easily dispenses from the jar. By setting the dispenser back in the bottom section after using, it "cleans" the honey from the jar making it ready for the next use. I do feel the lid is not as high quality as the rest of the dispenser so I do try to be careful with it, but so far it seals very well. There are no leaks and it operates properly. I absolutely love this honey dispenser and highly recommend it!
