This is a remake of a wonderful film called Little Indian Big City and shows just how much difference there can be between two movies with the same plot. The origional is warm and pleasantly humorous. This is cynical slapstick. An example, in the origional and remake a father finds out he has a son and confronts the mother. "how do you know he's my son?" The first mother replies, "because I never loved another men." A poignant moment. In the remake she replies "because he has your nose and he thinks he is never wrong." The boy who plays Mimisiku. a boy who grew up in the jungle and is taken to a big city for the first time,in the first movie in convincing and loveable. The boy in the remake is a big dork who, despite speaking pidgeon english, aoppears never to have been closer to a jungle than the local pet shop. I find this movie especially annoying as people who see it refuse to watch the origional. The only reason I can think of for buying this movie is the fascination of seeing just how much it trashes the origional.Read full review
