I bought this Bl Esc on the cheap hoping like all off us to find a nice fair priced product that works. Well i bought this 120a esc because I have a 53 amp motor and a 69 amp motor and was hoping to get lucky and get a nice cheap decent ESC little to my knowledge about two days later I saw another ESC made by OC day but it was only 80 amps so I got it forty bucks fifty bucks to buy a couple speed controls why not well when I got them I couldn't help but notice they were identical and I bought the shiny blue one because it was supposed to be a copy of one made by hobbywing I've liked hobbywing not had a problem so I thought sure I'll try and knock off we'll both Dee bright blue shiny one and the black 80 amp speed control are in fact one in the same you can scrape all the black off of the heatsink and get to the blue and if you open them up they are identical. Which I guess is why Mind Set On Fire the first time I used it being that it was rated for 120 amps and was probably more like 80 amps like OC days claiming. That the exact same speed control is only 80 amps not close not looks like the exact same speed control with the heat sink painted black and a black case they even have the phase Direction wrong on these both of them are wrong instead of lube being a blue sea and it's like that on both of them so just so everybody knows that if you buy the bright blue shiny Chrome one be forewarned it only handles to us and definitely is not 120 amps so good luck and I hope that helps all of you who are looking to buy it try it with 7 volts it'll probably be a pretty good speed control try it with 11 and you don't have a speed control no moreRead full review

The bright side to these ESCs, they are great for use with 2S LiPo packs, and only 2S packs. You got to look past the 120 amp rating. The 14 gauge wire should be a telltale sign the ESC is not a heavy duty 120 amp ESC. Works with Hobbywing's programming card/box. I have used six of these blue "120A" ESCs in the past two years. If you use the ESC on a heavy platform, and with 3S LiPo batteries, you will more than likely burn up the speed control (see pictures). First the BEC will give out. If you are lucky, the speed control will still work, but you will have to run a external BEC, for the rest of the speed control's life during 3S packs (speed control will eventually give out).
