Brighter, whiter, and without affecting the beam pattern
Happy with the bulbs, though you have to go into this with your eyes open. As I expected, the LED bulbs extended a LOT further behind the headlight (in this case, an AutoPal H4 "E-code" (European beam pattern) that I'd upgraded my 1996 Jeep Cherokee with. I had to cut a hole in the sheet metal behind the headlights, to get them to fit. The rubber "protector" has to be left out as well, so only time will tell how the itty bitty little fan in the bulbs handles that environment (there's no direct water or even TOO much air intrusion). The temperature (aka "color") of the lights is spot-on - nice and white, but not "blue" like so many LED bulbs (5000k = perfection). Much better than the original (see photo). The light output (measured with a smartphone lumen app) was about 3x the old ... Happy with the bulbs, though you have to go into this with your eyes open. The lumens measured about 900 on the old bulb, and 3000 on the new LED bulbs (in the "hot spot"). Max values were about 1150 and 3600, respectively. I didn't measure the high beam output, but it was similarly brighter. Better yet, the pattern was at least as good with the new bulbs as the halogen bulbs, meaning that the manufacturer really DID locate the LED devices at the right point for proper focus in these halogen housings. The end result is a much better, brighter, whiter light to drive by.
