The adapter worked great. Two points that were not good. 1. VGA connector has screws that are useless when used on a laptop with no screw connections on the VGA output. 2. The USB power cable was too short to reach the powered USB port on the other side of the laptop without covering the keyboard. Solution: had to make sure VGA connector was snug and balanced when connecting to VGA output. No real solution to short cord other than getting a longer USB power cord. Made using keyboard awkward.

The converter certainly works and was easy to set up; that's the good news. The not-so-good news is that, at least with my computer, it runs at the "wrong" (much lower) resolution than my display is capable of, despite the specs indicating the adapter is capable of higher resolutions. Windows apparently doesn't "see" the proper capabilities of the displays (I tried two different ones) back through the adapter, and therefore won't offer any of the higher resolutions in "settings", even when I go to the device manager for the video card. I wasn't able to find any info online about the adapter, so no help about how to possibly address the problem. So I'm less-than-happily using it at 1280 X 800 though my display optimally works at 1920 X 1080. But it does let me use a VGA only output computer with an HDMI only input display.Read full review

The vga to hdmi adapter works great, it is very easy to set up and plug in when using it. However, I wasnt actually able to get it to work on my tv, none of the hdmi ports recognized any signal from it. However, I paired it with another adapter I have that goes from hdmi to vga for a small monitor and that worked great, so I will be using it for a different purpose. This was a disappointment though and I wouldn't recommend buying it if you need it to convert the analog video signal to digital for your tv to read because that didnt work for me. Either that or all three hdmi ports on my tv are broken

It probably works in most "normal" situations, but I am trying to eliminate having to carry around a monitor and keyboard everywhere I go. I found a program called TinyPilot KVM that does exactly what I need - and the HDMI to USB interface is cheap as hell! But, try to find a VGA to USB - not so cheap! So, I go this to plug into the HDMI to USB so now I should have a VGA to HDMI to USB. And it works - sort of. For some reason, while the computer is in the BIOS, it doesn't work. Once the OS loads, it works fine. As this device wasn't really designed for what I am looking for, I guess I will have to take what I can get. I have a different VGA to HDMI adapter, but it is in a big metal box with an external power supply, so this one is much smaller.

Works great only "downfall" is that the audio cord is too short to reach across the laptop but I just needed it for the video so it works great :) Above was my original review but now not even a year later the adapter just stopped working right in the middle of my work shift. I did eventually need the audio so I had to buy a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cord so that audio would work. For $10 I guess you get what you pay for. If you are getting this for a laptop make sure that there is a 3.5mm and a USB port on the same side as the VGA port or you will have to buy more cords to make this work because the supplied cords are very short and don't even reach across the laptop.
