I'm by no means a professional welder. I bought a new TIG welder (Miller Diversion180) and decided to get a new helmet. My old Harbor Freight helmet has worked fine for many years with my MIG welder, but thought a new one was in store. The thing that caught my attention for this helmet was the advertised spec of 1/30000 sec reaction time, however in the helmet manual it's 1/25000. Probably a moot point, but interesting. I like the helmet very well, nice big screen, all the controls of the higher priced helmets. Very comfortable to wear. I've never tried the $300 or $500 helmets so can't compare the difference. Make SURE you set ALL the controls BEFORE you strike that first arc! I made the BIG mistake of not having the Weld/Grind switch in the right setting. VERY BRIGHT!! I can't imagine anyone not liking this helmet especially for the price. Read full review

Received and found out that it is very thin and flimsy. Auto darkening works when you press the test button.. But will not switch to darkness when needed the most. Never got it to switch at all. Tried all the settings and still won't work. I am going to have to return it asap. Not sure igbo am willi to exchange it. I need one asap. But should I risk it and place my security in the hands of this products manufacturer ? Hell no!!!

I am in my late sixties and when my old Jackson EQC which I have been using since the early 90's finally died I wanted a bigger viewing area but didnt want to spend $300+ on another Jackson. I just wouldn't get my moneys worth out of it. So far this one seems to fill all the requirements I had and seems as well constructed as the EQC was. If this is still working 20 years from now I probably have no business welding as I approach my 90's! I suspect this will be a great helmet for someone just starting out or at the tail end of their useable life. :-)

Great welding helmet. Huge view. Adjustments are great, fine tune able. A little heavy but well built. I had to add another hole for the tilt adjustment as it wouldn't go far enough for my glasses to focus on the weld. once the side adjustments are made to your liking, a little nod and the helmet flips down smoothly. Grinding option is real nice. Time will tell how well it holds up but for now, I like it a lot.

Excellent viewing area that works great for any type welding. Head adjuster works good and all controls are very functional. I have one of the expensive helmets with all the bells and whistles but I had just as soon use this one, and the price for the quality can't be beat. The only thing is it's just a little heavy, but it's not bad. Will buy another for shop welding.
