Good heater
I've been using these for years. I keep a lot of nana aquariums and I finally gave up on the other brands that are 10 watts. The other brands are better in their small size but terrible quality, temps all over the place. I kept trying to use them because of the size but I lost too many fish. I'm sticking with these. If you can fit it in the aquarium, the clear glass heater really isn't very noticeable. I highly recommend them. Aqua clear did make a "Compact Mini" that was shorter if you can find one. Sometimes people list it as a mini but it isn't if the package doesn't say "mini".I've been using these for years. Great for my 2.5 gallon Betta Tank
Purchased this for my 2.5 gallon Betta tank because all the big fish websites said you need a heater in your betta tank. Apparently bettas like water around 78 degrees, even though I asked 30 people in real life if they used heaters and all of them said NO and their bettas lived 2-3 years. Still, I did not want to follow their lead because I trust fish websites more! lol So I purchase this heater because the fish websites recommended it. It took some tweaking before I figured out which way to turn the knob - I thought I was turning the heat down but actually I was turning it up and I couldn't figure out how to read this thing. I actually still don't know how to set an exact temperature, but by trial and error I got the temperature to 78 degrees in my tank and it holds steady there all day ... It takes a bit of time to get the right temperature you want. I’m currently cycling my tank and after trial and error I got the perfect temperature. My tank now stays between 78-79° F. I also appreciate the light that signals if the heater is on.
