These Monoprice headphones come in a high -quality case and everything about them gives you the same feeling. These are well made. The packaging is well done too and right away you get the feeling the company cares about this product. That said, I got these headphone for their noise-cancelling. In that vein, they do work, on some types of sounds. Light steady noises are greatly reduced. Loud percussive and deep bass sounds are not suppressed much. The headphones by themselves provide hearing protection, turn on the switch and the little exterior sounds still coming though, disappear. A funny thing though. The company says many times that the headphones can be used passively, just as regular headphones. That isn't my experience. Without the NC on, the sound is muted at each level, low, mid and high. It just doesn't sound right. At that point as headphones, they fail. Then turn on the noise-cancelling and you have an excellent pair of headphones. The best I've owned. The sounds are clear and bright, details coming through. Very nice. At first I found the headphones very uncomfortable. It was the headband that does not go up and over the head but pushes right up against it and for me, right on the bone. Very uncomfortable. I loosened them up, extending the adjustable cup length and that helped though I couldn't move around with the headphones because they would slip off. Since I use them while stationary it's not such a problem for me. Active users might have some difficulty but other users also might find the headphone comfortable while they are snug. This can be personal. My previous headphones (non -NC) had a skeleton band that went up and over my head, never touching and were quite comfortable. They weren't noise-cancelling though and didn't sound anywhere as good. In the end, I am disappointed more noise isn't cancelled but this may have more to do with what I expected NC headphones to be able to do. I have worn them with no music or sound, just as NC headphones and they do help. The battery life is very long. I have since replaced the alkaline batteries with a lithium one and expect to wait a very long time to have to replace it. Did I make a good buy? I think so. It was a good price, the shipping was excellent, both fast and very well packed. The quality of the headphones is very good and so is the sound (with NC on). I still wonder if there is a kind of NC headphones that cancel more noise but maybe there is a limit. Glad I bought them. I was sceptical when I read other reviews about these headphones being nearly was good as the more expensive Bose noise cancelling headphones - but now as the owner of both the Bose and these Monoprice noise cancelling phones - I agree - they are nearly as good as the Bose (I'd suggest 80%-90% in terms of sound quality and noise cancelling) but 50% of the price. The sound quality is very good and the noise cancelling is excellent compared to others I've tried (I bought them for long-haul airline cabin noise filtering). Very comfortable for hours of continuous use expected of them. So all in all, a really good quality purchase if you can't afford to stretch to the next level of cost for noise cancelling headphones.

Seems to do what they say. My wife and I fly a few times a year so I wanted to try these before forking over $600 on the competition. Comfortable, quiet, and yes the sound is better when the NC is on but I'm using these for knocking the noises out from flying. Bought another pair recently.

I received these a few days ago, planning to use them mostly for air travel a few times a year (will update on that later). In between travel, our office has a fairly noisy ventilation system, and we also play music for our customers. Just putting these on, no music, with the noise-cancelling ON, the HVAC noise disappears completely. I can still hear the music a little bit as the speaker is 4' above my head. If I play music at even low volume through the headphones, I can't hear anything else. That's with Media Player at half volume, and my laptop volume at 10%! If I take the headphones off, I have to lean right against the laptop speakers to hear that music, and just barely! Wearing these over my glasses dont seem to affect the NC much.

I bought this earpiece and am very pleased with it. Very good for gaming. One year after using this headphones i have changed my opinion of their quality. Yes, it very comfortable and good noise cancelling. But reliability is VERY BAD! I had used it very carefully, but result you can see on photo. First microphone is stopped working, then right earphone has broken and then both earpads.
