This is not my favourite recipe book. It has appetizers, soups, entrees, side dishes, salads, breads, , breakfast/brunch and lunch, condiments/sauces/relishes/jams and deserts. Strangely enough there is no section containing mains even though their are a 1000 recipes in the book. Also there are no pictures. My mum likes this book but she agrees it is not organised well and pictures would have been helpful. I will only be using the book for the above... but it's not one to whip up a main.
I was looking for a simple cookbook with basic ingredients. These recipes have alot of ingredients that I've never heard of and I've been cooking for 25 years. Also, I am allergic to tofu and alot of these recipes have tofu in them. In addition, it seems vegetarian and vegan recipes use alot of soy, including this cookbook. I stay away from soy. So, alot of these recipes aren't very useful to me. This cookbook would be fine for the typical vegetarian who has a wonderful supermarket that stocks a variety of items and loves tofu and soy.
Lots of recipes to try. Easy directions to follow. A good variety of food to try.
