I love this club. I always have had a mental issue hitting these type clubs, hybrids or fairway woods, but I needed something long and straight to hit out of the rough or tight lies. Just the overall look of the club is appealing with the large face that looks like an iron so it's not so mentally intimidating for me to hit. I have used this club for a few rounds already and have not miss hit it yet, everything has gone straight. I have tried other hybrids and have sold them because I just couldn't hit it properly. I hit this club right off the fairway or off the tee. G20 clubs in general are great but this hybrid has helped me get to the pin quicker. Now if I can only figure out how to putt the same way. I would suggest and or buy these clubs again ! Thanks Ping !
Bought this club for two tee shots on my home course, a 190 yd par three with a raised green and a short uphill par four to reach the 100 yd marker. The carry is about 200 yds for each. The club is great for a carry of about 200 yds and is very easy to hit. Also good for the second shot on par fives. Better than any fairway woods I have tried.

My ball flight is typically low to medium and am looking for a hybrid that has a natural high trajectory for 160 to 175 yard shots. This model is the absolute highest I've found in 10 years of searching. After playing with it for 3 weeks it is staying in the bag for now. I also have the #5 which exhibits the same high flight. I find the "hot face" hybrids roll off the back of greens for me which is very annoying. 65 year old male with 85mph driver swing speed.

I am a 70 year old, 12 handicap golfer and in my search for the "ultimate" hybrid, I hit a number of different demo clubs at a nearby club fitters. I have used earlier Pings, Adams, Nikent, etc. with mixed results. I tried both a G20, 20 and 23 degree to fit the gap between my irons and fairway metal. The G20 hybrids with regular flex shafts (I also tried other shafts) performed very well, had a good feel and seemed to be quite forgiving. The club fitter did not have any in stock but informed me of the asking price for used G20's. I searched ebay for the specific clubs I wanted and found them at a reasonable price. After using them for a couple of months, I found them to be the best tight-lie hybrids I have ever used.
I purchased this club along with other Ping hybrids over the past 3-4 weeks. I now have i20 17*, 20* & 24* and G20 27* & 31*. Its made playing a hell of a lot easier. I am on a 11 and was struggling at times to play to my handicap. Even though I hadn't played for a approx 3 weeks with a crook back the first time out with these I played under my present handicap. From the one round I have had with them I think the G20's are the easier of the two models to use but its early days yet. The hybrids are a lot more forgiving than the longer irons, the i20's can be worked, the G20's will go dead straight which is what the manufactures and testers say these things do. I presently have a #3 wood and I dropped a second ball down to see how much shorter the 20*(#3)hybrid would go. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was only approximately 10 metres shorter than my #3 wood but was dead centre of the fairway. I am giving my 3 wood to my son. My home course is well treed and there are only 4 quite long fairways and I believe that this new combination will serve me well.Read full review
