Given one for my bridal shower in 1966, used it several times a week (for 55 years) until it began to look battered and abused. Back in business now with a great replacement.

This is going to be a perfect gift for my mother who is 86 now. She had a cooker just like. This one but the lid was lost in a move. Since then she has been looking for one all over the place, thrift stores, joke stores. You name it she’s has look there. She doesn’t do the internet. It is going to be a Christmas gift but I don’t know if I can wait that long. Every time I talk with her she tells me she wishes she hade a good pressure cooker. Thank you for allowing me to bless my mother with something she really really wants. It is so hard to find a gift for parents. This is going to be perfect.

I have used pressure canners and cookers for years, and I know how to refurbish them. I am satisfied with the purchase, including the price, then. However, this was labelled clean, in capital letters. While some steel wool was clearly used to clean up the outside and inside, there was grunge around the lid and pot, and the sealing ring was extremely old. Please be aware of the necessity of replacing this part along with the blowout plug on a regular basis.
