Abu Garcia C3 or C4 Are the best reels on the market in my opinion. I have had some of mine for 20 years or longer. And they still work as good as ever. I fish both saltwater and freshwater and use both models in either environment. I do allocate reels for freshwater or saltwater use only. All my reels have needed is routine maintenance.

Abu Garcia is a top brand for fishing reels. I use these reels for over 20 years and I still have them. The new styles however are made in China and the quality declined a lot. If you can get hold of a vintage Abu, that's the reel for you! Even used, if in good condition, they're better than the new ones. I would recommend Abu Garcia reels as a good choice for fresh watter.
